Published: Sep 18, 2025 by Ayla Clulee · This post may contain affiliate links.

This collection of healthy and delicious Mediterranean mezze recipes is perfect for sharing with friends and bringing people together. A bowl of hummus, some warm bread, a little salad, and maybe some stuffed vegetables turn into a meal that feels easy and welcoming. There is nothing fussy about mezze; it’s about delicious food that is perfect for sharing with loved ones.

    Sigara Boregi

crispy Turkish cheese rolls - sigara borek filled with feta and halloumi
    Ayla Clulee

Sigara Boregi (Turkish Cheese Rolls) are crispy Turkish appetisers/snacks made with thin and flaky filo sheets called "yufka", filled with feta cheese, and then shallow-fried for extra crispness. They are the perfect "make-ahead" finger food for parties. I also often serve them as an appetiser along with a bowl of Cacik (Turkish Yogurt with Cucumbers), as a part of a mezze spread, or Turkish Breakfast selection.

Baked Feta with Honey and Sesame Seeds is one of my go-to mezze recipes when I need something fast, yet it always looks and tastes like I put in more effort. With just cheese, honey, and a bit of crunch, it turns into a dish that feels special without much work.

Zeytoon Parvardeh is a Persian Marinated Olive dish made with green olives, walnuts, pomegranate molasses, garlic, and fresh herbs. It’s rich, tangy, and a little nutty—full of the kind of flavour that makes you go back for another bite. This recipe comes from northern Iran, especially the Gilan region, where sweet, sour, and savoury flavours are all part of everyday cooking.

This Easy Meatless Çiğ Köfte Recipe is my go-to vegetarian twist on a Turkish street food favorite from Urfa, a city in southeastern Turkey. It also works beautifully as a light meze or appetizer and has a lot in common with Kibbeh Nayyeh from Levantine kitchens.
