Place the ground beef, onion, bulgur wheat, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley, dried mint, salt, chilli flakes, and ground black pepper in a medium-sized mixing bowl.

Shape them into small meatballs, as they will expand when cooked. Use water to wet your hands while shaping to ensure they do not stick to your palms.

Melt the butter in a dutch oven or a heavy-based pan on medium heat and then add the pepper paste. You can replace the butter with olive oil if you prefer.
