    • Watermelon - The flavor and quality of the watermelon you use will make a big difference in how the cocktail turns out. If you’d like more tips on picking a good one, have a look at my post on Watermelon Feta Salad with Basil and Cucumber.
    • Simple syrup - It is made by boiling equal parts water and sugar. You can find detailed instructions in my Sari Burma Baklava Rolls - Saragli recipe.
    • Vodka - Use your favorite vodka. You can make the cocktail smoother or stronger by simply adjusting the amount.
    • Garnishes - I use raspberries and mint leaves for garnishing my watermelon drink. You can also use lime wedges, cucumber slices, or any favorite garnishes you have in hand.

How to Make Fresh Watermelon Vodka Cocktail

Swap vodka for tequila or rum if you want something with different character.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I make this watermelon cocktail ahead of time?

Yes. Prepare juice and alcohol mix up to a day ahead. Store in fridge without ice or sparkling water, then add those just before serving.

How can I make it non-alcoholic?

Skip vodka. Use sparkling water, soda, or a non-alcoholic spirit for similar mouthfeel.

How to choose the best watermelon?

Look for a heavy melon with a creamy yellow field spot (shows ripeness).
